On November 14, the ALC held its first biennial speech contest. While we only had eight sign up to participate this semester, we are hoping for bigger numbers next semester.
Participants gave a 4-5 minute speech on the topic of their choice and were judged by a panel of three speakers. Winner, Katelyn Miner, took home a $25.00 Amazon gift card for her speech on the importance of books over other media. Second place went to Olivia Liang and third place to Max Roberts. Great work, students!
B.J. Ford and Kelley Paystrup sponsored the event.
