Students will use 3D software to create models for use in video games, simulations, virtual reality, and animation. This course will introduce students to modeling, UV mapping, surfacing, camera setup, particle effects, rigging, animation, lighting and rendering of 3D assets. Students will also learn how to develop concepts using storyboards and pre-visualization methods. They will learn how to manage a production pipeline and incorporate their finished 3D models into a video game, virtual reality, or animation project.

Separating hype from reality is hard, especially in the fast-growing and evolving space of augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR). Recent advances in technology have allowed AR/VR systems to become extremely sophisticated and realistic. This course introduces students to the technologies that underpin AR/VR systems. The course walks through 5 applications of AR/VR and how they will change and impact numerous aspects of our lives and the economy. Including health care, entertainment, simulation, education, and exploration. Students will also learn about and discuss the risks and side effects of these systems, including health, privacy, and ethical implications.

This is an advanced digital media course designed to teach the process of planning, instructional design, development, and publishing of digital media and interactive media projects. Students will focus on developing advanced skills to plan, design, and create interactive projects using the elements of text, 2D and 3D graphics, animation, sound, video, digital imaging, interactive projects, etc. These skills can prepare students for entry-level positions and other occupational/educational goals. Students will work with industry partners in mentoring and solving real-world projects.
