Advanced Learning Center (ALC)
In order to attend the ALC, you MUST choose 2 FULL CREDITS of classes. This allows for travel time between the ALC and your primary school.
Early College courses are available for college credit with a qualifying GPA.
Academic courses require at least a 3.0 GPA and CTE courses require at least a 2.0 GPA.

All prospective students applying for an application-based program are subject to a selection processes.
Cosmetology, Hair Design, & Nail Technician
Enrollment is based on a lottery selection process. To be eligible, a pre-registration form must be completed (found on program webpage). The following dates are when the form must be submitted to be eligible for selection:
March 6 - May 29,2024
May 30 - August 9, 2024
August 19 - October 18, 2024
October 23, 2024 - January 3, 2025
January 8 - February 28, 2025

1. Apply Online At Portal.mtec.edu
Applying is free and easy. First-time applicants can only choose "undecided" as a program choice.
2. Entrance Assessment
Admission requirements may be met by taking the Entrance Assessment OR by providing qualifying documentation. The Entrance Assessment can be taken at any Testing Center location. Documents can be brought to a Testing Center or Email Transcripts.

3. Program-specific Prerequisites
Some programs have specific prerequisites that must be completed before registration. To find these requirements, please visit the individual program webpage.
4. Registration & Payment
Once previous steps have been completed, eligibility is met to register for the first course within each program. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tuition and fees are due for the first course upon registration. Students can register online (through the Student Portal) or in person at Student Services.
High school students must register with their high school and MTECH.

5. Orientation & Student Id
New Student Orientation can be completed online at mtec edu/orientation.
Student ID cards are given within the first week of class by instructors. To ensure this happens, a photo must be taken by the Testing Center (typically completed with Entrance Assessment).
